SILVERDOCS: Day Four

Friday at SILVERDOCS welcomed music and crowds, as a Douglass High School Marching Band performance and free outdoor screening of WHAT'S HAPPENING! THE BEATLES IN THE U.S.A. packed the Silver Plaza. HERB & DOROTHY also drew excited fans to see the renowned modern art collectors headlining the film.

Douglass High School's Marching Band performed in Downtown Silver Spring at 1:00 p.m., prior to the screening of HARD TIMES AT DOUGLASS HIGH. Crowds gathered to watch the Baltimore high school students as they danced, played and eventually marched their way to the theater.

WHAT'S HAPPENING! THE BEATLES IN THE U.S.A. screened outside, attracting a large crowd. Downtown Silver Spring sponsored the free screening.

And finally, filmmaker Megumi Sasaki presented the world premiere of HERB & DOROTHY. He was a postal clerk. She was a librarian. Despite their modest means, the unassuming pair are the most important contemporary art collectors you've never heard of. Herbert and Dorothy Vogel, who were in attendance, redefine what it means to be a patron of the arts.
